A Crafting Start goes Live!

Good Morning all...Just wanted to share with you some exciting news! I have joined a great new blog called a crafting start where I will be part of there DT and a contributor to blog news. Ever have one of those weeks...where you just cant seem t get out of your own way..Well that was me last week..In a funk and not feeling at all crafty...Enter my Friend Jen..we call her  Jingle...She is one of the coolest upbeat super talented crafty gals I know...She sends me a text asking for my address...I give it to her and a few days later receive a really nice card from her...and enclosed is ( Big drumroll please) A coupon from Old Navy for a free coat....Yes People I said FREE so off I take myself to Old Navy and buy this super cute Camel colored winter coat. Just what I needed for a lil pick me up....So If you didnt already do so...Click on the word Jingle up above..It will bring you to her blog...where you will be amazed and astonished at how super cool and crafty this girl is! Pumpkin Carving

SO I promised you I would post pics.... I dont know How I feel about the way mine came out but..It was a very good time had by all, with some making off the wall pumpkins some doing traditional jack-o-lanterns, and Eileen and I carved to of the faux pumpkins that you find at michaels...less mess and it went much quicker... Mine really only looked good lit up at night so here it is...

Its supposed to be a vampire going after a ladies neck...

Good Morning All...Just stopping by quick to post a card I made. Got lots going on this weekend...Took a ride to Bass Pro Shop yesterday in search of Feathers for Eileen and Boots for Zackary. Today we are going to carve some fake pumpkins at a friends house...Hope you all have a great day...Stay tuned tomorrow for pics of the pumpkins.

A new Challenge

So, there I was blog surfing and discovering..looking for a new challenge...and BAMB! While perusing one of my fav blogs Ewen Style I happen across a new site with a  Color challenge I could do Play Date Cafe then I looked around my scrap space for some playful little things and realized...all my crafty goodness was at my boyfriend Kevin's house....hmmm. Time to use what ya got! and I did it...It worked...

Where did it go?

Ever have one of those scratch your head moments? Where you know you have something..you own it...and you put it some place for safe keeping...but by golly you cant recall where that place might be! Ha Ha..I have these moments often...

I made this really nice Halloween wreath a couple of years back at my LSS, It was a cool class using cosmo cricket goodies that one of the fabulous ladies, Nancy, from A Time for memories was teaching... Well, I loved this wreath let me tell you...and When I moved ..I'm pretty sure I made sure to snag it..but alas..I scratch my head in disbelief that I cannot find the thing....

So I shall post it here as oppose to my front door to both myself and my veiwers to enjoy for the Halloween season. Hope you enjoy!

Yabba Dabba Dooo!

Insert Loud industrial whistle noise here ( You know like on the flinstones)..It's almost quitting time on Friday before a long weekend, and I may even get out a lil early..woo hoo.. SO I have plans this weekend ..and the next week for that matter...scrapping and card making I say! My boys have headed off to Disneyworld with their Dad and I have some time to my self...I will be heading over to Kevins house most of the time and I have set up shop in his spare room with all my crafty stuff so I can play when ever the urge hits!

We will also be taking a trip to the Topsfield Fair..photo oppurtunity!! which means more scrapping..YAY!

Favorite time of year...Fall and Operation Write Home!

Since its fall, I decided to post this layout. Very simple with some stamped embellishments. This is my now 13 year old, youngest son...I LOVE this picture of him!

So Tomorrow is World card Making day, and although I don't know If I will be able to take part as I will be traveling to Maine, but I wanted to tell you all that this may be the perfect oppurtunity to make a card or two and make some cards for Operation Write Home , read about it HERE I heard about this from the Gel-A-Tins blog site...see here

Occupational Hazards HA HA! and a bunch of cards and one LO

So on Friday I decided to play while I was at work..things were slow might as well get some creative work done lol...Well, I had inked up a stamp, stamped my image perfectly and then..... The phone rang and a client came in and I had to put everything off to the side and  THIS hasppened...

A big ugly ink spot on the folded edge of the card..I was devistated lol...

So I held onto the card...and when I got home showed my Boyfriend Kevin, he said "just toss it and start a new one" Oh no...I couldnt do that I loved the stamped image...and waste a card...what! unheard of!
So Sunday afternoon I sat down in my craft space at his house and was determined to fix it and This is how it came out....

Not to Shabby huh? I Love it!! and really that is all that matters lol...


Here are some of the other cards I made this weekend..You will notice a theme...embossed lines with the stamped sentiment...I got the new scoring tool from Stampin up and I am so happy I did...

I also made another card using some scraps from the layout I had dome the other day... and used a peice of a LYB journal spot or two...

And last but not least.... A Birthday Layout...Did this a few weeks back but figured my birthday just past so it was fitting to post! lol

Big 40

Okay Friends..Its Happened! My Birthday snuck its way into my world again.  And I'm flip flopping between feeling old and Feeling Fabulous... I like the thought of being Fabulous at 40..This is a new year for me...New love in my life...Things are coming together in my world so why shouldnt it be Fabulous Right! So I dont need to reinvent myself I just need to love myself and be free to be me at Fou-ty lol  I ryhmed!! Okay, I think that is my cue to go home now!

Ha Ha...when Life does not go as planned...

So I got home last night, made a big pan of  shepards pie..and then went into a downward spiral...lol Got the beginnings of a card for an upcoming wedding done and flopped on my bed...KO'd by my long hard day at the office lol
BUT...There is HOPE! I will have only one precious child at home tonight..The other is going to spend the night at my dear loves house to Babysit his daughter...(i think there may be some secret squirrel Birthday stuff going on lol) ANyway..I just got turned onto this new Pinterest site and it's CHUCK full of ideas and eye candy...so I'm bursting with stuff I wanna make...

Tonight the night!

Kevin is taking the kids shopping (for my birthday-40-EEEK) and I will have the house to my self. I have sketches printed and ideas brewing...I also have a boat load of re-organizing ideas I want to get done also...So It may be a marathon dash to fit it all in, but this chick is going to try! So, Below< I told you aboout a cool contest happening at RetroCafeArt! They have the coolest SHrine kits, which I think I have fell in love with... Anyway...Here is what I made for the contest? Hope you like!!!

Cool Contest..You should Check it out!

So I was over at my friend Jingle's blog and she had a post about this cool contest at Retro Cafe Art. It looks soooooo cool...and I love these Shrines...very cool and lots of ideas come to mind... SO Anyway..I decided to share as requested..

The Rules:
1. Create up to 3 pieces of art using any Coffee Break Design Shrine Kit (any of the kits in this category count, even the shelf shrines and tiny shrine charms - it doesn't matter where you purchased the kit, or how long ago it was!) and send us your photos. You can have 1, 2 or 3 entries. The art can be whatever you wish. A stand alone shrine, a shrine as part of another piece, jewelry, etc. Just as long as each piece has at least one of the products in the Shrine Kit category!

2. Email your photos to retrocafeart@gmail.com subject: Shrine Kit Contest. Please do a separate photo for each entry. Files between 200 -300 KB preferred. I will post these photos on our Facebook page in a special album as they are received. Please include your full name in your email. Again, we only need photos, not the actual art!

3. Deadline is September 2nd. This will give you 6 weeks to get your shrine photos to us!

Update on the Chicks and a layout

Well , Its Friday once again... and before you know it it will be Monday... and the whole viscous circle will start again lol. Well at least I got a little scrappy time in...

Weather here has been so Nice...so I decided to let the babies go play in the garden and spread theie wings...they absolutly loved it...

A while back I had talked about bringing home some eggs from my friends chicken coop, well they are hatching...We are up to 4 baby chics right now and looks like there will be about 5-7 more.

Ha Ha...I thought my baby days were over!

Okay..I have a confession..I'm copletely addicted to two things right now....

First..My New Boyfriend..Kevin..Yup He's the best

Second...Scrapping and crafting..I had kicked the stuff for a while..but I'm back to it...yup..It's bad but Good lol

2 Cards and a layout

Thats right girls..I'm back..Even my boys said that to me lastnight....Went to my table lastnight and finished a layout (Horrible picture taken with my phone)

And I made these cards, going to try and make some sets of cards to sell..I have all this paper and product just sitting around Might as while try and use it to get more stuff...lol

Missing something?

I worked on this page last night but I think I need another little element? I thought of putting something on the Doilie...but I'm not sure... Anyway, I created a second page in a weeks period...This is very good progress for me since I havent done much scrapbooking in about a years time....

Which came first?

Well This weekend we went off to visit one of Kevin and Eileen's friends. We went for a little tour around the property and peeked in the chicken coop. Saw a whole bunch of eggs and thought, Oh lets help out and bring these in to the owner. OOOPS!   She was letting the Hens Brood  these eggs in hope to get some more chickens, Since we had now touched them and didnt know which ones were which she said we can have them....Well, we rushed home and put them int the incubator...and possibly in 21 Days we may have chics? I will keep you posted as we go along...July 3rd is the approximate Due Date!

Tornado...

New England weather has always boggled my mind, but it keeps life interesting. Yesterday we had a Tornado warning in our neck of the woods, The tornado touched down 20 miles East of where we live and did quite a bit of Damage. We were spared with just a bunch of rain and Thunderstorms. But due to this scary weather I got to see my hunny and his mini-me for Dinner. I Love to have Kevin and Eileen over, Just kinda makes the flow of the house go better...If that makes any sense?

Well, as of my last post we were supposed to go fishing and canoeing...well We did canoe and Kyle even did an awesome job in the Kayak (very proud) but the only thing we caught was a little buzz from Champagne! LOL

We have made it through yet another week...YAY! and the weekend looks like it will be a good one ...Well, Kevin and I will be going out on the motorcycle tonight to meet some of his friends and then home for a quiet dinner. Saturday we have plans to do a little canoeing with Kyle and some friends, and maybe drop the line in for a little fishing..Sunday we have been invited to a cookout and Monday I think we may need to recoop..lol Hope you have a fun weekend!
